This page reproduces attribution and trademark notices required when Belong redistributes or describes CollectionSpace. Notices here are informational and do not modify any underlying open-source license.
CollectionSpace
Belong uses CollectionSpace as the catalogue of record. CollectionSpace is open-source software licensed under the Educational Community License, Version 2.0 (ECL-2.0).
Copyright 2009 University of Toronto, University of Cambridge, University of California at Berkeley, and the Museum of the Moving Image, except where otherwise noted in CollectionSpace source modules. Source repositories: github.com/collectionspace.
A full copy of the CollectionSpace license text is included in this repository at licenses/COLLECTIONSPACE-ECL-2.0.txt. Repository-level attribution is also kept in NOTICE.
Redistribution (ECL-2.0 Section 4)
When redistributing CollectionSpace or Derivative Works, recipients must receive a copy of the license; modified files must carry prominent change notices; copyright, patent, trademark, and attribution notices from the source must be retained; and NOTICE attributions must appear in a NOTICE file, documentation, or a display generated by the work (such as this page).
Trademarks (ECL-2.0 Section 6)
The license does not grant permission to use the trade names, trademarks, service marks, or product names of the licensor, except as required for reasonable and customary use in describing the origin of the Work and reproducing NOTICE content.
References to "CollectionSpace" on Belong describe technical origin and integration only. They do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation by CollectionSpace, Lyrasis, or the copyright holders listed above.
Disclaimer of Warranty & Limitation of Liability (ECL-2.0 Sections 7 & 8)
CollectionSpace is provided by its copyright holders and contributors on an "AS IS" basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation warranties of title, non-infringement, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall any contributor or copyright holder be liable for damages, whether in contract, strict liability, or tort.
Support & Additional Obligations (ECL-2.0 Section 9)
Pursuant to ECL-2.0 Section 9, any acceptance of warranty, support, indemnity, or service level obligations offered by Belong (Palxi) to subscribing institutions is offered solely on our own behalf and on our sole responsibility, and not on behalf of any other contributor to CollectionSpace.
