Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use Belong and to read the museum pages it publishes. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA on our marketing pages, the museum admin and every visitor page.

What we support

  • Screen readers, with headings, landmarks and labelled controls.
  • Keyboard-only use, with a skip link and visible focus.
  • Zoom to 200% and small screens without loss of content.
  • Reduced motion and light and dark colour schemes.
  • Read-aloud and text-size controls on visitor pages.

Known limitations

  • Image descriptions on visitor pages currently use the artifact title. Museums cannot yet write separate alt text.
  • Words in other languages are not yet marked up with their language.
  • Embedded YouTube players are third-party content and have issues we do not control.
